Job Title: Senior Human Resources Generalist

Location: Orangeville, ON

Schedule: Full-time, permanent (seasonal flexibility required)

Salary Range: $70,000 to $85,000 annually

 

Our people are our greatest asset. We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist who will serve as a trusted partner to employees and leadership while helping strengthen our culture, improve communication, and support organizational clarity across the business.

This role requires a visible, engaged, and hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong relationships at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives while helping leaders and employees align around shared goals and expectations.

We are looking for a self-motivated, adaptable individual who takes initiative, embraces change, and balances strategic thinking with day-to-day execution. The ideal candidate is an approachable, people-focused communicator who fosters collaboration, accountability, and a positive workplace culture while supporting the continued growth of the business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Culture, Communication & Employee Engagement

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture through regular employee engagement and communication initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships across all departments and serve as a visible, approachable resource for employees and leaders.
  • Coordinate employee recognition, team-building, and engagement programs.
  • Help employees understand organizational goals, expectations, and how their contributions support business success.

Employee Relations & Leadership Support

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on workplace matters.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, performance concerns, and workplace investigations.
  • Partner with leaders to establish clear expectations, promote accountability, and address employee issues effectively.
  • Identify and proactively address workplace concerns that may impact employee engagement or business performance.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Lead recruitment activities including sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions and contribute to workforce planning initiatives.
  • Build relationships with educational institutions, industry organizations, and recruitment partners to attract qualified talent.
  • Ensure new employees receive a positive onboarding experience and are successfully integrated into the organization.

Performance Management & Development

  • Coordinate performance review processes and guide managers in goal setting, coaching, and performance documentation.
  • Identify training and development opportunities that foster employee growth and business objectives.
  • Assist with succession planning, individual development plans, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.

HR Operations, Compliance & Administration

  • Maintain HR policies, employee records, documentation, and HR systems.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and participate in compensation review activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment, accessibility, health and safety, and workplace legislation.
  • Track and report on key HR metrics, including recruitment, turnover, retention, and training participation.

Health & Safety Support

  • Partner with operations and leadership to advance health and safety programs, training, incident investigations, and return-to-work activities.
  • Maintain required records and contribute to ongoing compliance initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CHRP designation is considered an asset.
  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated success in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Ability to influence positive change and support organizational growth through strong relationships, communication, and collaboration.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365; experience with HRIS and payroll systems is an asset.
  • Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, or a related industry is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak agricultural seasons.
