Summary

The Key Accounts Manager is responsible for managing and growing relationships with strategic customers across the Ontario region. Focused on customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth, this role will act as the main point of contact for key accounts, ensuring alignment between customer needs and company offerings. The Key Accounts Manager will also supervise Outside Sales Representatives, supporting their development and performance to ensure consistent service to clients. Working closely with the General Manager, this position plays a key role in driving regional sales performance and executing on strategic priorities. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of key customer accounts across Ontario, ensuring strong relationships and long-term loyalty.
  • Act as the main liaison between customers and internal teams, coordinating pricing, service delivery, and product availability.
  • Supervise and mentor key accounts specialist, ensuring their alignment with account goals and service standards.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and pursue new business within the region.
  • Collaborate with branch managers, inside sales, and operations to ensure fulfillment, delivery accuracy, and service excellence.
  • Monitor customer performance, including sales volume, margins, and satisfaction metrics.
  • Handle escalations and proactively resolve issues to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed of market trends, competitor activity, and customer projects within the territory.
  • Provide regular updates and forecasts to the General Manager and contribute to strategic planning.

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in B2B sales or account management, ideally within the construction materials or building supplies industry. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset. 
  • Experience leading or mentoring team members is an asset. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and relationships simultaneously. 
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Knowledge of the Ontario market is an asset. 
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
